This is an excellent reminder that good intentions without action won’t carry us forward. They won’t build the kind of legacy we dream of, or prepare us for the moment when we stand before Allah with nothing but our deeds. You’re right that this is not the time for soft pats on the back. It’s the time for hard truths and even harder action.

What’s great about your reflection is that it has hope woven through it. The fact that it’s not too late, that the moment is now. Allah has gifted us with another day, another opportunity to pick up the Qur’an, to seek knowledge, to act with purpose. Let this be the year we stop spinning in circles. Let it be the year of intentionality, of movement, learning, and building something that outlasts us. And yes Surah Al-Asr so powerfully reminds us that we’re in loss unless we act. So let’s make 2025 not just as a year of dreams, but as a year of doing.
